All Hallow's Eve 2017

A Mermaid in the Desert...

We were invited to the The Kouretas Family's 7th Annual Spooktacular! at Red Rock Country Club weeks ago but we were on the fence, my family had been so sick how could we RSVP yes to a main event and not sure if we could make it?  But we did.  We got there tonight with red&white Yayoi Kusama bells on and we even brought my mother, three generations of All Hallow's Eve ready to celebrate.  But guess what happened?  Our hostess-with-the-mostess and consummate professional, VEGASMAMA Amanda Kouretas, suffered a terrible downfall at the hands of a spookhouse last night.  She was pushed. She bled.  Suffered a concussion not to mention a serious gash in the head.  Endured hospitalization with glue (modern stitches), lost hair and peace of mind.  It was traumatic.  Never go to one of these places where you sign your life away.

But guess what?  Amanda & her husband Demetri Kouretas pulled off a party for 150 of their closest, provided drink and food and golf carts and ambiance that spooked the littles, delighted the teens and enlivened the adults.  It was epic.  We arrived 90 minutes late, but that didn't matter, you felt like you were walking into their living room as our hosts greeted us like true pros, they had committed to this fiesta and it was going to happen. Their three kids running around with friends, it was fabulous.  I honor them for pulling it off, most of us would have cancelled last minute and cited trauma, both of body & mind.

I didn't take many photos, these are the end of the night.  I wish I took photos earlier but the camera is heavy and the kids are lighting fast.  Thank you Red Arrow for always providing such a fabulous Halloween experience.  We had fun.  Thank you to Amanda & Demetri, really don't know how you guys did it but, hot damn, we saw a mermaid in the desert tonight!  VEGASMAMAS loves you.

I went as artist Yayoi Kasuma, my husband as Picasso, my mother as Georgia O'Keefe, my eldest was Superman and my youngest as the Moon Dragon.  God Bless the artist influence!  Please feel free to share with hashtag #VEGASMAMAS!
